If you are like many of my clients, the only version you have of your logo is either embedded in a Word doc or a low-res jpeg. These formats can be big trouble when you want to go to print.

What File Formats should you have for your Logo?

  1.  .ai or .eps - A native Adobe Illustrator file or EPS file is your scalable vector version of your logo. This is the most important version you can have of your logo.

  2.  .tif or .jpg - A 300dpi  TIFF or JPEG is a good format for your logo. Make sure the logo is on a transparent background.

  3. .pdf or .psd -  A high res (300dpi) PDF or, if your mark was created in Photoshop, a PSD is an acceptable version for your logo.

When getting an estimate from your designer for a Logo, be sure to ask them what format(s) of the logo you will receive and make sure you get a high resolution version.
